Islamic Marriages

A 'Nikkah' or a marriage contract according to Islamic (Shariah) Law may be performed at the Islamic Cultural Centre. The Nikkah ceremony will be performed by any one of the appointed Imams (Muslim Ministers) of the Islamic Cultural Centre and the London Central Mosque.

The Nikkah ceremony will normally take place in a hall specially arranged for that purpose. It can accommodate a fairly large number of guests. It will be helpful when booking a date for the Nikkah ceremony, to specify the number of guests attending the ceremony. All persons attending the ceremony are kindly requested to observe the Islamic tradition of dressing in keeping with Islamic values. The management reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone who does not comply with this request.

Note:

The Islamic Cultural Centre will issue two original certificates by the end of the Nikkah ceremony, which should be kept in a safe place for any future reference. Please note that the Centre will not issue certificates for Nikkah ceremonies taken place by other imams from different mosques outside the London Central Mosque. There is a charge of £20 to offset the cost of issuing the certificates. The Centre also welcomes donations which can be submitted to office 211 or 215 during the process of the application. A separate receipt will be issued for voluntary donations.

Non UK Residents
Muslim brides and bridegrooms who are not permanent residents in the UK and/or who have dual nationality are advised to consult their respective Embassies to comply with any regulations and/or requirements of their home country, if any, before entering into a UK marriage contract.
