Islamic Marriage (Nikah)



A 'Nikah' Islamic marriage contract according to Islamic (Shariah) Law are performed at The Islamic Cultural Centre and the London Central Mosque.

The Nikah ceremony will be performed by the appointed Imams (Muslim Ministers) of the Islamic Cultural Centre and the London Central Mosque.

Our Centre has been conducting marriages, divorces and conversions since 1946 which records have been kept in a digital database and there is a charge for obtaining a copy.

Getting married at The London Central Mosque is the experience of a lifetime. The Centre is committed to providing a unique & spectacular service, where you will create unforgettable memories with your family, and friends.

We have four venues made available for the Ceremonies which can be used according to your needs and budget: Conference Room, Boardroom, Halls and Restaurant.

Islamic Marriage (Nikah) Application Forms:

Documents Required For Islamic Marriage (Nikah) Booking:

  1. Fill out the Islamic Marriage (Nikah) booking form. (See above)

  2. Valid current Passport (including Visa for Non-British Passport holders) of the Husband and Wife.

  3. Proof of residential address, whether UK or abroad (otherwise the address given on the booking form will be registered on the certificates).

  4. Conversion Certificate if applicable to either Groom or Bride..

  5. Presence of two Muslim Male witnesses with their ID's.

  6. Presence of the Wali (The bride's father or brother) or otherwise the Registrar must made aware of the reason in advance if the bride has decided to choose an alternate responsible male kin).

  7. Written declaration of the agreed Dowry [Mahr] (signed by both couple).

  8. If the bride has previously been married, then an Islamic divorce certificate/ Decree Absolute is required.

  9. Signed & stamped Statutory Declaration* (Affidavit) only applicable to non-Muslim Brides. (The form must be signed & stamped by a solicitor or Commissioner of Oath.

Await final confirmation via email after the submission of the form and the required documents to the Registrar.

Fee Structure:

Nikah Fee:£300 (English or Arabic Certificate)
£360 (For both English & Arabic Certificate)
£500 External Nikah: when a marriage is conducted outside the ICC premises.
(this includes the Imam's fee)
* The client is responsible for transportation (taxi) for the imam to and from the external venue.








Please Note:

  • The Groom, Bride, her Wali & the two Muslim Male Witnesses should attend the ceremony in person, otherwise the Registrar must be informed of any issues while submitting the application.
  • We recommend couples conduct a civil marriage ceremony separately at their local council register office.
  • The Islamic Cultural Centre will ONLY issue two original certificates (one for each couple) by the end of the Nikah ceremony, which should be kept in a safe place for any future reference. Please note that the Centre will not issue any more original copies, but instead will provide certified copies at a charge.
  • For non-UK Residents, Muslim brides and/ or bridegrooms who have dual nationality are advised to consult their respective embassies or the FCO office to comply with any regulations and/or requirements of their home country, whilst entering into a marriage contract in the UK.
  • Cancellation: If for any reason, you decide to cancel your booking, you will be refunded 50% of the fees.

    Frequently Asked Questions:

    1. How do I book a Nikah Ceremony at London Central Mosque?

    • Please follow the above instructions, such as completing the form etc..
    • Once all documents received (by email) and verified, we will issue a confirmation to the booking, followed by instruction on how to proceed with the payment.
    2. What is the Structure of the day?

    • All attendees are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the Nikah ceremony.
    • The Nikah ceremony usually takes between 30-40 minutes.
    • The ceremonies are usually conducted in English or Arabic.
    • Once the ceremony has concluded, the Nikah certificate will be signed by the Bride, Groom, Imam & witnesses, and each couple will be provided with an original copy.
    3. Can we use the Car Park?

    • Free parking for up to 40 cars including 2 disabled parking bays are available in the Mosque underground car park (on a first come, first served basis).
    • Parking is free on single redline along the Park Rd during Sundays, and you're advised to check before leaving your car. .
    4. What is the capacity for wedding and wedding receptions?

    Our capacity for wedding ceremonies and receptions are as follows:

    • Nikah in the Boardroom 217: 40 People
    • Nikah in the Conference Room: 80 People
    • Wedding Receptions in the Hall: 200 People
    • Wedding Receptions in the Restaurant: 60 People
    5. Dress Code on the Day ?

    • Everyone attending the ceremony are kindly requested to observe the Islamic dress code in line with the Islamic values inside the mosque building.
