Shayk Faid M Said (PhD) held a book launch for his latest work titled: 'Values That Do Not Fast' - A journey in self-purification and the building of the human being.



Review of the book:

Fasting is not merely abstaining from food, nor a passing season whose effects fade when its days end. Fasting, in its essence, is a revealing experience - one that uncovers what lies within the soul, reorders the relationship between worship and values, between ritual and conduct, and between temporary hunger and lasting impact. In this book, the author does not ask, how do we fast? Rather he goes to the deeper question, what does fasting do to the human being? - and what should remain after it ends?

Shaykh Faid Said completed his PhD at University of Minnesota (USA). His doctoral thesis was entitled "Exploring the Needs of Muslim Converts in Contemporary Britain: An Empirical Study." He has authored several other books, including The Meaning of Muhammad and Our Cultural Memory and The River of Light (a collection of reflections that inspire love, mercy, and hope).
