Baroness Shaista Gohir Visits London Central Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre

London Central Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre (ICC) was pleased to welcome
Baroness Shaista Gohir OBE to the Centre, where she met with the Director General,
Dr Ahmad Al Dubayan.
During the meeting, Baroness Gohir and Dr Al Dubayan discussed opportunities for collaboration and partnership in addressing a number of important issues affecting Muslim communities and women in particular, across the United Kingdom.
The discussions focused on shared areas of interest, including the promotion of women's rights and gender equality, tackling domestic abuse and violence against women and girls (VAWG), improving access to education, employment and public services for minority women, strengthening community cohesion and social integration, and addressing discrimination, hate crime and barriers faced by Muslim women.
Baroness Shaista Gohir OBE, also the Founder and Executive Director of Muslim Women's Network UK, a national charity supporting Muslim women and girls has
also launched a

Baroness Gohir and Dr Dubayan welcomed the opportunity to work together on initiatives that support stronger, more inclusive communities and contribute positively to the wellbeing and empowerment of women and families.
