Director General Attends First International Islamic Civilization Forum in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan - 7 July 2026

The Director General of the London Central Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre, Dr Ahmad Al Dubayan, attended the First International Islamic Civilization Forum, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on 7 July 2026.

The prestigious international gathering brought together more than 400 scholars, academics, and experts from over 50 countries to explore the rich legacy of Islamic civilisation and its enduring contributions to humanity.

The Forum focused on promoting the values of Islamic civilisation, highlighting its remarkable achievements in science, technology, education, culture, and the principles of tolerance, coexistence, and intellectual exchange. Discussions also examined the important role that Islamic scholarship continues to play in addressing contemporary global challenges.

A significant part of the programme was dedicated to the history of Islam in Uzbekistan, showcasing the country's invaluable contribution to Islamic learning and civilisation. Particular attention was given to the historic centres of Bukhara and Samarkand, whose scholars and institutions played a pivotal role in the development and preservation of Islamic knowledge throughout history.

During the Forum, Dr Al Dubayan met with numerous distinguished scholars, religious leaders, and representatives of academic institutions from across the Muslim world. These meetings provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen international relationships and explore avenues for future cooperation.

Dr Al Dubayan also extended invitations to many of the participants to visit the London Central Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre, expressing his hope that these exchanges will foster greater collaboration, dialogue, and the sharing of knowledge between institutions in the years ahead.

The London Central Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre values opportunities to engage with leading international forums that promote the shared heritage of Islamic civilisation and encourage mutual understanding, scholarship, and cooperation among communities worldwide.
