International Scholarly Seminar with Distinguished International Scholars Held at Tashkent Islamic Institute

As part of the First International Islamic Civilization Forum, Tashkent Islamic Institute hosted an international scholarly seminar bringing together prominent scholars from Uzbekistan and abroad.
The seminar was opened by the Rector of the Institute,
Uygun Gafurov, who warmly welcomed the distinguished international guests. In his opening remarks, he emphasized that the event would further strengthen academic cooperation, promote the exchange of scholarly expertise, and contribute to the advancement of Islamic scholarship.
Professor Dr. Muhammad Akram Nadwi of the Cambridge Muslim College (United Kingdom) delivered a lecture entitled "Contemporary Jurisprudential Issues and the Role of Women in Islamic Scholarship." He expressed his pleasure at returning to Uzbekistan - a land renowned for its outstanding Islamic scholars - which he has visited on numerous occasions since 1992. Dr. Nadwi also highlighted the remarkable contributions of Uzbek women to the development of Islamic scholarship.
During his presentation, he referred to the celebrated Hanafi jurist Imam Ala al-Din al-Kasani, who authored the renowned commentary Bada'i al-Sana'i fi Tartib al-Shara'i (The Marvels of Legal Rulings in the Arrangement of the Sacred Law) on his teacher Ala al-Din al-Samarqandi's seminal work Tuhfat al-Fuqaha (The Gift of the Jurists). He noted that contemporary scholars continue to regard this commentary as one of the most comprehensive and authoritative works in the Hanafi legal tradition.
Professor Dr. Saif Ali al-Asri of the Bulgar Islamic Academy (Russian Federation) presented a lecture entitled "The Study of Abu al-Mu'in al-Nasafi's Scholarly Legacy in the Russian Federation." His presentation focused on Abu al-Mu'in al-Nasafi's outstanding contributions to Islamic scholarship and the enduring significance of his intellectual legacy.
Dr. Ahmad al-Dubayan, Director General of the Islamic Cultural Centre (United Kingdom), delivered a lecture entitled "Contemporary Research on Islamic Manuscripts in the United Kingdom." His presentation explored the historical transmission of Islamic manuscripts to Western countries, with particular attention to their preservation and study in England.
The seminar was attended by
M. Nasriev, Chief Specialist of the Department of Education and Research of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, as well as faculty members and academic staff of Tashkent Islamic Institute and Kukaldosh Islamic Educational College.
The event concluded with an engaging scholarly discussion during which participants exchanged views on the presentations and explored promising avenues for expanding international academic cooperation in the field of Islamic studies.
