New Arabic Calligraphy 11 Week Course

The ICC is pleased to announce the start of an Arabic Calligraphy course, allows you to learn the standard Arabic Calligraphy (Riqa’a script) which is a handwritten style still commonly used. You will learn more techniques of calligraphy for example; how to hold the pen while writing and how to cut it.

The course also contains an introduction to the history of Arabic Calligraphy; its types, schools, its development and its importance among other Islamic arts.

Arabic Calligraphy Course:

Teacher: The Calligrapher, Mr Behnam Igzeer, a student of the well known Calligrapher; Yusuf Dhu Noon from Iraq.

Duration: 11 weeks Course, 2 hours per week (first lesson is introduction to the Arabic calligraphy and its history)

Start date: Saturday 10th December 2022

Day and time: Saturday from 11am to 1.15pm.

Cost: £250 (materials included)

  • The London central Mosque cannot accept any responsibility for unforeseen changes in students' circumstances that may prevent their attendance for all or part of a course.
  • No refunds can be given for classes not attended.
  • Fees are not refundable once you have attended the first lesson.
  • Please note that, in the event whereby a class has to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, such as adverse weather conditions, the replacement class may have to take place on a different day.
  • Classes will be small in size in order to maintain a high standard of teaching.
  • Certificates will be given upon completion of the full course.
  • Places cannot be reserved in advance without payment.
