Prime Minister Rishi Sunak visits ICC

The Prime Minister Rishi Sunak held a suprise visit to The London Central mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre.

The Director General Dr Ahmad Al Dubayan recevied the Prime Minister and said that the visit was an opportunity to have two way engagement, express the voices of the Muslim community and build relationships so that we can work towards a more understanding and cohesive society.

The meeting was held in the board room where the Director General spoke about the history of Islam in the UK and the Centre's role in establishing Muslim Communities since 1944.

Some of the current major concerns and issues of the Muslim community were raised with the Prime Minister.

The Director General said that there is a greater need for engagement between the government and Muslim communities in order to harvest better understanding and to create a more peaceful world.

During the month of Ramadan, the Centre will be handing out over 1,200 hot meals a day to the wider community.

The Prime Minister wished all Muslim's a blessed Ramadan. The Centre also gifted the Prime Minister a number of publications.

The Islamic Cultural Centre has established the Commission to guide Muslims in the UK.

Matters relating to religious issues aswell as solving complex inheritance (Mirath) cases, marriage, divorce and islamic arbitration.



As we adjust to life in lockdown, many vulnerable in our community need help to get essential supplies. Our staff and volunteers are delivering every day, may Allah reward them and keep them safe.
